Glass book review by Emily Lagran

Glass by Ellen Hopkins is a book I would recommend to anyone who reads. The main character Kristina Snow is a young woman with a complicated life. Living in her world of lies, pain and struggle with addiction. Caring for her baby while living with the monster, things get harder. Now fallen in love with Trey who also struggles with the monster, their relationship takes them through a series of up and down events. I think the reason why this is such a popular book for young readers is because teenagers relate to the events, even though I haven’t personally dealt with any of these events written, I still feel like I have relate to the characters in the book. Glass is one of my favorite books I’ve read yet, because it makes you feel like you’re in her world. You see what society is like with drugs, even as a fictional book.
Quote from Glass:

“Six months since we met up
again we are inseparable,
an intricate weave.
No longer do I believe
this is a temporary fling.
More like total commitment.
More like I have walked
down the aisle, holding
hands with the monster.”
