A Monster Calls by Garet Flemmer
A Monster Calls
The book I read was called A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. I really enjoyed this book because it was gripping right from the start. The main plot had me glued to the book. Connor, the main character, has had a troubled life. His mom fell sick a while ago and Connor has a truth that he refuses to tell, which brings the monster walking. The monster comes at 12:07 every night and tells him three stories. After the third story has been told, it is Connor’s turn to tell the fourth one, which is the truth. I really liked the way this book was written and the artistry that went along with it. I couldn’t put the book down even after class. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys true-to-life stories. The problems Connor has to face are very real and the way the kids react is very similar to who other kids would react. The author did an extremely good job at capturing Connors feelings and emotions, as well as set the mood for the whole book. The part I enjoyed most about the book is the fact that it teaches us to think about life and that telling the truth can more often than not be the key to being happy.

The Son of Neptune/ By: Rick Riordan
ReplyDeleteThis book is a really good book. I would recommend it to anyone even Kamina Moore. This book is based on a young man named Percy Jackson that discovers that his dad is Neptune and he has to go on a quest to help his dad keep their life safe. During the book Percy went to the underworld to save his mother. Percy and his friend get in trouble three times throughout the book. At the end of the book Percy defeats the lightning thief so his dad was safe. Percy also saved his mom from the underworld. So he and his family lived happily ever after.
